More Interesting Sources
Over the past decades, the resources for Grandparents have exploded. Not only are there many good sources of stories that help us know that we are not alone on our journey, but a plethora of programs and organizations have formed and matured to the point that they are functioning wonderfully to offer hands-on help. Some of these groups are governmental, like your local Council on Aging. as well as many other concerned folks helping make this planet a much better place.
A good example is that our local Cape Fear YWCA sponsors a chapter of the Grandparent Support Network. They specifically support Grandparents caring for their Grandchildren. A great and noble endeavor.

More and More Books
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
There are more and more books, some narrowly niched and others like this one, that offer considered and valuable information and ideas about your journey.
The spin-off of this book is a companion website aptly titled Goodtogreatgrandparenting.com. This is intended to be an ever-evolving, more in-depth source for ideas, success stories, networking opportunities, and anything that will make more Good Grandparents Great. One source for Grandparents dealing with limited or non-existent visitations is Caringgrandparents.com, which also has a Facebook page.
The other trusted source is one I have used for years with my own Grandparenting quest and also for research in my writing about Grandparenting, AARP.Org. This is a repository of lots of valuable information that is targeted to our demographic. Their resources are sufficient, and their help for Grandparents is massive. They have groups and blogs dedicated just to Grandparenting.
Hands-on Resources
The table is better now with fantastic organizations and programs to help Grandparents. This is especially true regarding situations like Grandparents raising Grandchildren, Families in crisis, Legal entanglement, etc.
These resources include financial help, food assistance, advocacy, respite care, support groups, etc. In addition to some government organizations, Church and Community groups are flourishing. These groups and programs that provide this support, resources, and assistance to families in these challenging situations can be found through your grandchild’s school, area agencies on aging, communities and senior centers, faith-based organizations, and child services agencies.
Regarding a learning experience for many facets of Grandparents, a young man named Aaron Larson has created a very credible online learning experience. Grandpaerntsacademy.com. Aaron has assembled the top experts in many of the appropriate fields of Grandparenting. This is becoming the go-to site for grandparents to learn the latest and most accurate and timely information.
While on current and timely information, I find Grand Magazine’s online publication, which can be found at Grandmagazine.com, fascinating and helpful.
It is essential to consider all the changes in the Grandparenting space. Please note that I said suppose. As a discerning Good Grandparent working on Great, only you can judge best for your family and Grandkids. Not all information is a miracle fix for what is going on in some families. If you will remember, I said in the Introduction to this book, “Trust your own ability to create a Great outcome.” This is a lot to take in and digest. You are to be applauded for being a Caring Grandparent and for your willingness to take this journey. As the subtitle says, “A Journey Worth Taking”.
